Today my friend Elzi and I are headed to Petrolina, a city 4 hours away. We are going to see my favorite Brazilian singer, Paula Fernandes. She is singing there for festa junina, a big party that happens every year here during this week. The best way I can describe it is the county fair. The party has a farming theme and everyone dresses with boots, cowboy hats and flannel. This is my first time going, so I do not have much to say about it. Hopefully by the end of this weekend I will have some photos for all of you. Some of my friends think it may be dangerous to bring my camera, so we will have to see what happens. The one we all decided on, except I didn’t wear the hat. Apparently women here don’t wear hats with skirts.
